Streaming Royalties VS. Publishing Royalties + PRO VS. Publishing Administrator

CHECK OUT MY MUSIC - https://SoundCloud.com/LoFiChill I made a video about making money with music streaming a while back. It's called "Make Money From Your Music On Social Media And Streaming Sites" VIDEO LINK - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9TyvgsK4lw&lc=UgzL5D6UtsEnDuyke9V4AaABAg Lately, I've been getting some questions about the topic, and wanted to do a follow up video. This video attempts to further demystify the music publishing world. Here are some additional notes from the video: 1. Streaming Royalties – Revenue collected by your distributor and passed on to you. (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.) 2. Publishing Royalties – Royalties you earn from the “performance” of your music played on internet radio. Usually paid to your PRO from the companies themselves. (Pandora, I Heart Radio, etc.) 3. Publishing Rights Organizations – Organization that protect the rights of writers and publishers. Every country have their own PROs. Their responsibility is to collect publishing royalties within their territory. (ASCAP, BMI - check in your own territory if outside the U.S.) 4. Publishing Administrator – An independent company you hire to “enforce” the collection of your publishing royalties outside of your PROs territory. They usually keep 15% of everything they collect for you. (Song Trust, Tunecore Publishing Administrator, etc)
